Do I need Commercial Property insurance?

If you own commercial premises, or you lease and are responsible for the fit-out and contents, property cover protects the assets your business depends on. Landlords, owner-occupiers and tenants all carry different parts of this risk.

What does it cover?
  • Buildings, including landlord fixtures
  • Tenant fit-out and improvements
  • Contents, stock and equipment
  • Loss of rent for landlords
  • Removal of debris and rebuilding costs
Important tips
  • Insure for full replacement value, not market value. Rebuild costs have risen sharply in recent years.
  • Check your lease. It usually sets out exactly what you must insure as a tenant.
  • Flood cover is often optional. Decide deliberately rather than by default.
